The mesh associated data of 2D elements has "Use Element Associated Data" 

button. 

Why doesn't 1D element have "Use Element Associated Data" button?

Solution

 The switch is simply a "use or ignore" type of switch.

If the switch is ON, then the exporters will use the element associated data 

(where it exists). If the switch is OFF, then all element associated data is 

ignored and only the mesh associated data is used. The switch doesn't exist for 

1D meshes because 1D mesh associated data tends to produce element associated 

data anyway.
