NX X Importing A Part Into Teamcenter And Specifying An Existing Item ID

You have an existing TC structure and have received an NX part from a supplier that was created using native NX. You want to swap revision A of your dataset with the supplier's data.

Solution

1. File --> Import Assembly Into Teamcenter
2. Numbering Source: OS Filename
3. Conversion Rule: As ID and Revision
4. Select Assemblies or Parts --> Browse for part on OS --> OK
5. If NX auto assigns the ID and Revision, select the row corresponding to the part being imported and choose Reset Attributes
6. Once the red asterisk is displayed for ID, right click the field and choose Edit (Note: double clicking auto assigns the values)
7. Enter in the desired ItemID and hit the green check
8. Repeat steps 6 and 7 for Name and Revision (if required)
9. Select Dry Run and review the Information Window
10. Select OK to import the part into Teamcenter
