NX X Tool Axis Output when using Variable Axis with Offset Curve Drive

A Variable Axis operation is created and a set of Cut Area faces are specified.
The Drive Method is set to Curve/Point and the edges on the periphery of the Cut Area are selected. A curve Offset is specified. The Tool Axis is set to Normal to Drive. How is the Tool Axis calculated at the offset tool position?

Solution

The Tool Axis is calculated as normal to the Cut Area face on the Curve Drive geometry before the offset is added. The tool path is then offset without changing the tool axis.
