The NX client is not accessing the desired NX license server.

Solution

NX1847 and newer clients use the system environment variable SPLM_LICENSE_SERVER, 
which is set when NX is installed.

NX1847 and new clients *also* set field in license tool


To point an new license server

STEP 1)


On the NX client system:


 Select 'Start' button 
 Open 'Control Panel' 
 Select 'System' 
 Select 'Advanced System Settings' 
 On the Advanced tab, select 'Environment Variables' 
 In the 'System Variables' section, update the 'Variable Value' of 
 SPLM_LICENSE_SERVER  to the new license server. 
 The 'variable Value' entry would be port at host. Example:28000@Server1

STEP 2)

Start->
Siemens NX->
Licensing Tool->
Environment Settings->
License server
The entry would be port at host. Example:28000@Server1
