NX X How to read DWG drawing layout into NX

A drawing layout defined in an AutoCAD DWG file cannot be imported into an existing NX drawing

Solution

This is a system limitation. Layout data cannot be imported into an existing part file. Workaround is to import into a New Part


This is documented in 'Help': Home --> Data translation --> DXF/DWG translator --> DXF/DWG Import


Import To 
 Imports the part data into the part displayed in NX, or saves the imported part data in a new part file.


New Part 
 Imports layout data only if you save the data to a new part file.


Work Part 
 Imports model data only if you import data into the part displayed in NX.
