Opening a part file raises the message: "A newer version of this dataset has been created since you loaded it".
Prior to opening the part a save operation in NX had raised a message that the session had lost its connection to Teamcenter, and that Teamcenter needs to be restarted. New sessions of NX and Teamcenter have been started, however, on reopening the part file NX reports:
Checkout parts
A newer version of this dataset has been created since you loaded it.
Closing NX and Teamcenter, and deleting the FCCCache folder, does not correct the issue.
Solution
The following solution prevented the message and allowed the user to reopen the part and continue working on it and save it in NX.
In Teamcenter, locate the Item and then the Item Revision of the part that does not open. Cut the UGMASTER dataset from the Item Revision and paste it in the Home folder. Highlight the Item Revision, select File --> New --> Dataset (Ctrl + D) and create a new UGMASTER dataset. The contents (Named References) of the new dataset will be empty.
Copy/Paste the contents of the original UGMASTER's Named References to the new UGMASTER dataset's Named References. Note: to access a dataset's Named References right click the dataset and choose Named References. The Named References dialog will list several objects, including the part file. Use the Ctrl key to multi-select the objects and choose the Copy icon to copy the objects to the Teamcenter Clipboard. Check Out the new dataset and then right click it, choose Named References and select the Paste icon.
Send the new UGMASTER dataset to NX and the part should now open without raising the message.
