When attempting to Promote a body, either individually or using Deform Component, NX returns the message "Selected Body belongs to a V9 Assembly-Cannot Promote".
Solution
The cause of this error is that the component being selected is from Pre-version 10 of Unigraphics. Essentially, the part file was last saved in too old a version of the software.
("Unigraphics" is the name of the legacy product that evolved into NX.)
To resolve the issue, there are 2 methods:
1. Use 'File -> Utilities -> Upgrade Component'.
NOTE: This will only work if the component is in a Pre-V10 assembly.
2. If the first method is not applicable, the other method is to use 'File --> Export --> Part' and export the file to a new file. This converts the file format to the version of NX being used.
