It is not possible to enter regular expressions, such as the pipe concatenator, into the Expressions Editor Filter text entry field.
Solution
By default, the Expressions Editor only allows a simple text based search.
To allow regular expressions to be entered into the filter text field, open the Customer Defaults and select: Gateway --> General --> Miscellaneous (tab). The Text Filter default has two options; Simple and Regular Expressions. Change the option to Regular Expressions, choose OK and restart NX.
As the tooltip explains: This option specifies the type of text filter used in the Expressions dialog box text entry fields. The Simple options allows an asterisk (*) to be used as the wildcard in the filter. The Regular Expressions option allows the more sophisticated regular expression filter to be used.
You can now enter regular expressions into the filter, for example: "Shaft|Length" will list all expressions that contain Shaft and/or Length. Search the internet for other types of regular expressions to see how you can narrow down your searches more accurately.
