Some cases have been reported to Siemens GTAC where users try to open an NX part and they get a message "NX has stopped working'. The NX session collapses when selecting Close or Debug from the error dialog box. There are no significant error details reported in the NX syslog file.
Siemens GTAC has determined that in some of these cases, an incorrect driver for a 3DConnexion device may have been installed. If your system has one of these devices attached you should perform the following test.
To confirm if the 3DConnexion device driver is causing the problem you must first DISABLE the device driver for the 3DConnexxion device (unplugging it is NOT sufficient) and then start NX to see if the problem persists or not. If the problem no longer occurs then it is suggested that you UNINSTALL the current driver and go to the 3DConnexion website to download and install the appropriate driver.
