In a managed environment, assembly components can be marked as 'Reference-Only'. How can 'Reference-Only' components of an assembly be removed from weight calculations of the assembly?
Solution
Components that are for reference only can be removed from the assembly weight
calculation by performing the following:
In NX7.5.4 and NX7.5.5 only:
1. Set the variable: UGII_OMIT_RFC_IN_WT=OMIT
2. Re-start NX.
In NX8 onwards:
1. In Customer Defaults, expand 'Analysis' and highlight 'Weight Management'.
2. Toggle ON 'Exclude Reference Only Components from Weight Calculation'.
3. OK the Customer Defaults dialog and re-start NX.
NOTE: If a subassembly is marked as 'Reference-Only', only the weight of
geometry directly in that subassembly part is excluded from the weight
calculation. All components of that subassembly are still included in the
weight calculations unless each of the subassembly's components are also marked
as 'Reference-Only.
Notes and References

'Reference-Only', all its sub-components are also excluded from weight
calculations.
