How to export all edges of a model as wireframe curves to an IGES file.

Solution

 1. EDIT THE "UGII_BASE_DIR\IGES\igesexport.def" FILE
 a. Open the "UGII_BASE_DIR\IGES\igesexport.def" file in a text editor.
 b. Add the option, 'All Solid Edges', to the UGI_CURVE_MASK line so it
 looks like the entry below:
 UGI_CURVE_MASK = Points,Lines,Arcs,Conics,Rational B-Spline
 Curves,Solid Edges on Drawings,All Solid Edges
 c. Remove all the values for the UGI_SURF_MASK and UGI_SOLID_MASK options:
 UGI_SURF_MASK =
 UGI_SOLID_MASK =
 d. 'Save As' this file to UGII_BASE_DIR\IGES\igesexport_wireframe.def

2. USE THIS SETTINGS FILE WHEN EXPORTING
 a. In NX, select 'File-->Export-->IGES'.
 b. On the 'Files' tab:
 Export From = Display Part
 c. Browse and set the option 'Settings File Load From' to the
 igesexport_wireframe.def file created above.
 d. On the 'Data to Export' tab:
 Export = Entire Part (This is a mandatory setting.)
 Curves = ON
 Surfaces = OFF
 Solids = OFF
 c. OK the Export to IGES Options dialog.

The IGES file created will have all edges of the model as curves.
