The 2D mesh appears fine in the fem file but is not getting displayed in the 

sim file. Why?

Solution

 In the fem file the 2d mesh is set not to be exported out to the solver. This 

is the reason it is not displayed in the sim file. If the 2d mesh is required 

to be exported out to the solver, the following can be done to have it 

displayed in the sim file:

1. In the fem file, double-click the 2D mesh to edit it. 

2. Toggle ON 'Export mesh to solver' from the 'Mesh Settings' group. 

Now, this 2d mesh will appear fine in the sim file.
