Summary

In a Capital session connected with Teamcenter, there may be additional information to troubleshoot an issue in the Teamcenter's log file or syslog. This article describes how to find the active user's session Teamcenter syslog file name.

Details

In the Active Workspace panel within the Capital Design application do the following:

  1. Select Help icon
  2. Select About from the RMB menu

This will pop up a window where you can find the name of the Teamcenter's user session *.syslog file:

This log file is located on the Teamcenter server. A Teamcenter server administrator will have to retrieve it.

Note: Most Teamcenter servers are set up to remove the Active Workspace syslog files while the session is closed, so this syslog file will most likely only be available when the Teamcenter connection is active with Capital.  If a new Teamcenter connection is made, then that will create a new syslog file.
