Simcenter FLOEFD How to replace/add new FLOEFD license using the Siemens License Server
Summary
In this article, it is described the process to replace a new FLOEFD license file, either because the previous license has expired or because new features have been added. This process assumes that the Siemens License Server, required by FLOEFD 2306 and newer versions, is used.
Details
The following steps have to be performed in the Server machine:
- Locate the "SiemensLicenseServer.exe" installer:
If you don't find the application, look for it on the Windows search bar as "SiemensLicenseServer":

Open this application as an administrator and select “Add/Replace License File”, then Next

In the next step, select “Browse” and choose the new FLOEFD license file. Then click Next.

A message will appear saying that the service will be reconfigured, accept the message there:
- In the next step, check for the correct port numbers that your current FLOEFD installation is using and set them accordingly. By default, the license port number is 29000 and the vendor daemon port number 29001, but you can change it if necessary, for example:

Accept the final steps to finish the workflow of replacing an old license with a new one. After that, the new license will be located in C:\ProgramData\Siemens\License Server\ActiveLicenses.
- Finally, you can check in LMTOOLS that the service is running. In LMTOOLS go to the “Server Status” tab and click on “Perform Status Inquiry” to verify the status of the license service,
