Do several items require the same or similar types of maintenance actions? Don’t want to recreate the same maintenance tasks over and over? This guide will show you how to create the tasks once and reuse it for other items (and tailor as needed). Additional Tips & Tricks included at the end.
STEP 1: Ensure you are in the RAM module.
STEP 2: If you haven’t already, create the maintenance action(s) by navigating to the item of choice, right-click on the item, and select “Maintenance Actions.”
NOTE: If you have already created the maintenance action(s) once and are ready to reuse them on other items, go to Step 3.
STEP 3: Once you have created the maintenance action(s), select the checkbox to activate the maintenance action in the model (when unselected, the action exists but is considered deactivated).
NOTE: This tutorial does not show the steps for creating new maintenance actions, as this is covered in the user-training courses. For a refresher, see Session 5 of the MADE Training Course content found in the built-in Help feature.
STEP 4: Now navigate to another item that you wish to reuse the maintenance action for, right-click, and select “Maintenance Actions.” This will open the Maintenance Actions window for the item.
STEP 5: In this example, no maintenance actions exist yet for the Fuel Tank. I want to import the “Breakdown 1” action I created for the Control Unit.
Select the blue “Import” button on the lefthand side:
STEP 6: A dialog box for “Import Maintenance Actions” will appear with a list of all existing (and ACTIVATED, see Step 3) maintenance actions in the model.
Use the checkboxes to select the action(s) that you wish to import for the item. Click “OK.”
STEP 7: Now the selected maintenance actions will appear in the “Maintenance Actions” list for the item and the corresponding task information is included on the righthand tables.
NOTE: You may tailor the details of the imported actions and tasks WITHOUT effecting the original maintenance actions in the other items.
