Since Capital MR2207, there are product renaming so for users who use Capital version before Capital MR2207, please refer to MG587895.

Pin - Properties - Pin Type settings - what do they mean?

Capital MR2207 and above Capital Logic Designer, Capital Component Manager

The Pin Types available are NC, IN, OUT, IXO, IxO Terminated, PWR, GND and are located in:

- Capital Component Manager - Device Component - Pin Attributes tab
- Capital Logic Designer - Pin - Properties - Attributes

Some of the meanings are as below:

1. The electrical function of the pin e.g. input (IN) output (OUT), bi-directional (IxO) will be used by Capital Analysis when creating electrical simulation models. Attributes IMin, IMax etc will also be used.

2. CAN bus devices pin information (IxO Terminaed, IxO), will be used for automatic wire synthesis of CAN networks within Capital System Integrator.

3. NC (No Connect): This pin type indicates that the pin is not connected to any circuit. It is often used for pins that are present on a component but are not used in the design1.

4. JMPR (Jumper): This pin type is used to represent a jumper connection. Jumpers are short lengths of conductor used to close, open, or bypass part of an electrical circuit1.
These pin types help in defining the electrical characteristics and connectivity of the components in your design.

The documents listed below are available from Siemens Support Center - Documents which contain use case information for the Pin Type attribute.
