This article shows you how to use the newly introduced 2D touch point re-mesh command along with some tips and its limitations. This command has been introduced in the Simcenter 3D 2406 version.
The 2D Touch Point Remesh command could be used to refine a mesh when needed such as in areas where high stresses or deformation are expected.
It is recommended to select a point within a convex surface area as that helps the SW generate a map like mesh while remeshing.
2. Now in the 2D Touch Point Remesh dialog box, specify the node around which you would like to have the mesh refined.
3. The software automatically chooses and highlights many rows of element surrounding the selected point. This shows the region that would be remeshed.
4. You could also interactively add or remove elements to change the area that would be remeshed.
It is recommended to have a rectangular outer boundary for the selected elements to be remeshed and not have single elements petruding in or out.
5. Once you are content with the selected elements, you click Apply. The software will automatically remeshes the highlighted region of the mesh.
There are two main limitaions to the 2D Touch Point Remesh command that have to be kept in mind.
