This article explains about Multi Factor Authentication (MFA) and how to enable or disable it.
Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is a security measure aimed at enhancing access control and protecting sensitive data. It typically involves requiring users to provide two or more authentication factors to gain access to a system. MFA significantly strengthens security by adding layers of authentication making it more secure for unauthorized users to gain access, even if they have compromised one factor (e.g., a stolen password). This helps protect sensitive data and prevents unauthorized access to the Siemens Xcelerator Admin Console.
Currently, there are two use cases where users can enable or disable this MFA.
MFA is enabled by default upon first login.
To disable MFA, click "MFA" toggle button.
Click "Save"
Navigate to the profile section in Siemens Xcelerator Admin console.
Click "edit".
Toggle the MFA button to enable or disable MFA and click "Save".
If MFA is enabled after being disabled, the status will be shown as "MFA Enable in Progress". Additionally, the MFA regional info will be displayed.
Click "Refresh" to update the status to "Enabled".
Note
By default, MFA is enabled if it's not disabled during the first login.
