This article shows how to fix the STAR-CCM+ GUI if it appears transparent when using Remote Desktop session
Sometimes when using Remote Desktop Connection from Windows machine to connect to a Linux workstation, you might experience the above issue where the STAR-CCM+ GUI appears transparent, and you are not able to see the icons properly.
In this case, you can try changing the settings in the Remote Desktop Connection on your windows machine.
By default, the colour depth of the remote session is to highest quality with 32bit. Change this to 24 bit or 16 bit and this adjusts the resolution and you should be able to see the STAR-CCM+ GUI clearly again.
