In earlier releases, the Calibre executable included the documentation package however, for releases starting from 2024.3, documentation will be accessed through the following options:
1. View documentation with a Support Center login No setup is needed.
2. View documentation with a secure documentation proxy Use a documentation proxy that is enabled with a webkey. This method does not require a Support Center login and only enables documentation access. The documentation proxy must be installed and a webkey must be obtained.
3. View documentation on a local install of the Support Center documentation viewer (DocViewer) This solution is available for sites with restricted internet access. DocViewer must be installed (a one-time step) and the documentation package for each release must be installed.
The Help>Open Manuals menu items from GUI tools will work as before, with documentation access determined by the above choices.
This article will cover how to access the documentation through several installation steps and a modification of the default home page for the Local documentation server both on Linux and Windows
