Summary

There is an issue with importing the new license file format for "Mobile Compute" licenses in PADS VX.2.14.1 and older.

Details

Error Examples:

PADS VX.2.10

PADS VX.2.13

Cause:

This is caused by a change in the license file formatting in the new "Mobile Compute" Node-locked Uncounted licenses. A value in the license count was changed from "0" to "uncounted" causing the application installer to fail and falsly report "The license file does not contain any Mobile Compute (Node-locked) licenses. It contains only Network/Floating licenses"

Workaround:

The current workaround is to manually set the licensing environment variable to point to the new license file. The correct variable to use will be one of the following.

For PADS VX.2.8 and earlier use:

MGLS_LICENSE_FILE

For PADS VX.2.10 and newer use:

SALT_LICENSE_SERVER

How to set an environmental variable in Windows

Solution:

This defect has been reported and is set to be resolved in the next PADS release after VX.2.14.1
