After a fresh installation or a Windows update/upgrade it can happen that the Capital Network Designer - Server (CND - Server) cannot be started as a service because of the following error message:
The error appears due to missing permissions.
Follow the step-by-step guide to fix this issue:
- Right-click on the relevant CND - Server icon on the desktop and select "Open file location"
- Right-click on the empty space in the Windows Explorer window and select "Properties"
or
Click on the 3 dots icon at the top menu bar and select "Properties"
- In the "Properties" window switch to the "Security" tab
- Click on the "Edit" button
- Select the user or group who is responsible for running the CND - Server service
- Assign "Full Control" to the selected user or group by activating the "Allow" checkbox
- Click on "Apply" and then on the "OK" button
- Click "OK" on the properties window
