The WIP API enables to report the routing database (Quality Management Database) with WIP information, and to perform routing validations. - when you report WIP on specific station, this station has the option to run a 'CheckRoutingStatus"
This means, that when you scan in specific machine, if that checkbox is set, it will send a REST call to check, if routing is correct and if this board can move forward. You can find more details regarding this option in: MSS REST API Reference Guide (siemens.com)
