Simcenter 3D Solutions Assembly FEM Bridge Analysis in Simcenter 3D - Part 10 - Postprocess the results

Simcenter 3D

This tutorial shows how to go about setting up a structural analysis using an Assembly FEM in Simcenter 3D. The aim is to introduce the user to the power of Assembly FEMS and familiarize them with the approach and concepts involved.

Part 10 - Postprocess the results

Step 25: Setup the Displacement Results View

•Expand the Results item in the Simulation Navigator
•Double click on the Structural Item
•Expand the Structural item in the Post Processing Navigator and double click on Displacement – Nodal. The result displayed will be the displacement magnitude. Note that the deformation of the structure is exaggerated to facilitate visualisation of the behaviour
•Click on Edit Post View
•Select the Display tab
•Set the Edges drop-down list to Feature
•Click OK

Step 26: Examine the Displacement Results

Step 27: Setup the Stress Results View

•Double click on Stress – Element-Nodal. The result displayed will be the von-Mises stress
•Click on Edit Post View
•Select the Legend tab
•Set the Legend Extremes drop-down list to Specified
•Set Min to 0
•Set Max to 20
•Click OK

Step 28: Examine the Stress Results

This completes Assembly FEM Bridge Analysis in Simcenter 3D tutorial.
