2. Dongle troubleshooting: Installing the Sentinel HASP LDK dongle driverIf you are having licensing issues after you have completed the previous steps, the first step is to reboot the computer. If the issue persists and you are using an RLM dongle, there are two options to fix this: to reinstall the latest dongle driver from the supplier's site, or to reinstall the dongle driver included in the License Server's installation files. For more information and troubleshooting steps, or for FlexLM dongle driver installation, please first refer to the article
Which dongle driver should I install for my dongle? How can I check if the dongle is working?2.1 Installing from the provider's websiteTo ensure the most recent version of the RLM dongle driver, download it from the Gemalto (Thales) website. Open a web browser and search for "Drivers and Runtime Gemalto," then click on the link to Drivers & Runtime Packages of the Gemalto Support Portal.
In the Gemalto (Thales) Support Portal, search for "HASP LDK Windows GUI Runtime" and select the current version of the Sentinel HASP/LDK Windows GUI Runtime Installer.
Click on the hyperlink to download the dongle driver.
Accept the license agreement, and the file will begin to download. Once the file downloads, browse to it in Windows File Explorer. Right click on the zip folder that says Sentinel LDK run time setup and extract it. Open the extracted folder and right click on the executable file named HASPUserSetup to run as administrator.
2.2 Installing from the License Server filesTo use the dongle driver installer included with the License Server installation, open Windows File Explorer and go to C:\Program Files\Simcenter\RLM 15.1.0 License Server\Licensing\Drivers. Open the folder Sentinel LDK Run time setup. Right click on the executable file named HASPUserSetup, and run as administrator.
3. Setting up the license filesOnce the RLM license server is installed, as well as the dongle driver if necessary, you can set up your license.
You must have an updated license file for the software version you are using. If you need an updated license file, contact the
Siemens Support Center with your sold-to and your request.
If you are using a dongle, server, or PC, make sure you have all the corresponding license files.
Once you have these license files, place them in the license folder.
The default location for this is C:\ProgramData\lms\licensing.
Copy the license file or license files to that location. Any time you have new or updated license files, you must put them in this location.
Go to C:\Program Files\Simcenter\RLM 15.1.0 License Server\Licensing\Bin and run the reread_localhost.bat file. The pop-up window should give the message “Reread command successfully sent to RLM server,” followed by your host name.
You should be able to start Simcenter Testlab with no problems. Specify the license server as localhost or 5053@localhost when starting Testlab.
If you run into problems during this process, please contact Siemens Support Center office at the appropriate phone number listed on
Siemens Support Center Website and have your sold-to ready. For example, the phone number for North America is 1-800-955-0000.
