Summary
If using a dongle/hardware key to provide a hostid for the license, please note that there is a VPL remote connection issue. This problem will occur after the VPL contract is renewed.
Details
To avoid this connection problem, please switch to using a MAC address as the hostid in the license file. This can be initiated by opening a ticket in Support Center, requesting the change to using a MAC address hostid.
To find the license server MAC address on Windows, please follow these instructions:
On Windows, click the Start Menu, type cmd and press Enter. Look for the Physical Address in the Ethernet Adapter section of the information returned (your information may vary):
C:\> ipconfig -all (The C refers to your main directory. If you are on a network, another letter may indicate your main directory. Just enter ipconfig -all after the :\>)
