Summary

How to capture the envelope of acoustic cavities to be later used in creating acoustic meshes?

Details

In many acoustic and vibro-acoustic applications, the users need to deal with multiple acoustic cavities present in a given model while creating the acoustic mesh required for their analysis. This process becomes especially challenging when these cavities are not connected together. This video shows how to capture the envelope of such acoustic cavities present in a model - this can be accomplished by creating a Surface Wrap Recipe using the method "Interior Points from Cavities" and by adjusting the relevant parameters as shown in the video. The captured acoustic envelopes can then be used as seed meshes to create the acoustic meshes easily. The technique is demonstrated here with an example microphone port model but can be implemented in any other model.
