A new feature in Simcenter STAR-CCM+ 2206 is capability to generate libraries required for In-Cylinder simulations with ECFM-3Z or ECFM-CLEH combustion models. This video demonstrates, how to do it, and how to plot data from such libraries.
Details
Modelling combustion with the ECFM-3Z or ECFM-CLEH models (both are widely used for in-cylinder simulations with Simcenter STAR-CCM+) requires libraries of pre-tabulated chemistry. For some widely used fuels (diesel, gasoline, natural gas, hydrogen), such libraries are available for download from the Support Center.
A new feature available in Simcenter STAR-CCM+ 2206 enables users to generate such libraries themselves, to simulate combustion of other fuels and fuel blends.
In this video, generation of a TKI library for diesel or dual fuel combustion (diesel + methane) is elaborated. Generation of an equilibrium library (needed for ECFM-CLEH only) is briefly outlined.
The video also shows how to plot data from such libraries, using STAR-CCM+ plotting functionality.
