This article explains Product Configuration and how many configurations are allowed per product in the Siemens Xcelerator Admin Console.
This section is dedicated to configuring the product based on specific requirements. Product teams have the ability to register templates for their products containing approved scopes. Once registered, these product templates become accessible under the "Add configuration" screen when selecting the desired "Product Name" from the drop-down list.
When a user creates a product configuration using a specific product, client credentials will be generated. These credentials namely "clientId" and "clientSecret" can be accessed using the download icon located within the product configuration screen. These client credentials are then utilized to authenticate the desktop application.
Note
To configure the product, follow the steps below:
Sign in to the "Siemens Xcelerator Admin Console" account and then proceed to the "Product Configuration" tab.
Click "Add configuration".
In the "Add Configuration" screen, enter the details in the appropriate fields.
Attribute name | Description |
---|---|
Product Name | Select the template you want to create the app from. |
Installation URL | Multiple URLs can be provided with separated by commas. |
App display name | Specify the app display name. |
Once you have updated all the fields, click "Add Configuration".
Once the configuration is successfully added, you will see the "Client ID" and "Secret key" listed in the table. You can download these credentials and utilize them to authenticate your desktop application.
Info
The apps created will have an expiration date on the client credentials. This expiration date will align with the product expiration date against which the template was registered. Once expired, you will not be able to download these credentials, and they will be invalid.
To remove a configured product that is no longer needed, follow these steps:
Choose the app you want to delete, click "Delete" icon.
In the "Remove Configuration" screen, click "Delete" to remove the specific app from the list.
Confirm the deletion by clicking the delete button.
The app will be successfully deleted from the "Product Configuration" list.
