Summary

With the submodel TFFD04, it is possible to use some of the thermal-hydraulic liquid properties (density, bulk, dynamic viscosity) for future use in hydraulic submodels.

Details

To export the properties of a thermal-hydraulic liquid from the existing database and to use it in simple hydraulic models, the Media Property Assistant can be used.
This must be done from the submodel TFFD04 - thermal-hydraulic fluid properties (Bode's formulation).
Once the Media Property Assistant app opened and the desired fluid selected, the hydraulic export is performed by choosing File -> Export -> Export media for use in the hydraulic library. The popup as shown below should appears

It is possible to choose between an 'isothermal file' meaning that the isothermal bulk shall be used as 'hydraulic bulk' for the export, or '"adiabatic" file' meaning that the isentropic bulk modulus shall be used instead. The choice to be made depends on the assumed behavior in the hydraulic circuit: if volumes are supposed to work isothermally (i.e. in a sufficiently slow way), the former has to be chosen; if the simulation deals with very fast phenomenon, the latter should be used instead. Two spreadsheets filled with a number of default temperature and pressure values are also presented. These values are chosen between the minimum and maximum temperature and pressure of the current thermal-hydraulic TFFD04 liquid. Some values may be removed or added using the contextual menu or keyboard shortcuts. Once the values are satisfying, the Export file button can be clicked; a file selection dialog pops up.
Once saved, the file can be used in the submodel FP04 - indexed hydraulic fluid properties from the Hydraulic library, with the parameter "type of fluid properties" set to "advanced using tables" and "filename for fluid properties" to the location where the file is saved. The other thermal-hydraulic liquid properties (specific heat, speed of sound, thermal conductivity, etc.) cannot be used in hydraulic components since most of the thermal properties of a liquid cannot be modeled in the hydraulic library.
