Can the O-ring (gasket) from the microdot connector be removed?

The Microdot frame part connector, e.g. from a VC8E (see picture 1), is equipped by default with an O-Ring (gasket)

The O-ring mounted on the threaded microdot, or 10-32, connector is intended to be used as a lock washer
to prevent the accelerometer cable from accidentally loosen but it can also prevent you from tighten the accelerometer cable enough (See Picture 2).

Note: for tightening the microdot cable use only your fingers and never a tool like pliers

If the accelerometer cable is not tightened enough, the center pin is permitted to rotate and that can lead to intermittent
electrical contact and ultimately to a distorted input signal.(When you wobble the cable a little you can feel that there is some mechanical clearance)

In these cases, it`s recommended to remove the O-ring to ensure a solid electrical connection, as shown in picture 3

To properly remove the O-ring the best way is to use a pair of tweezers (see Pict. 4)
