The Simcenter Testlab RLM 12.2.2 License server is installed from the main Testlab installation menu.
Click on the option called “Install RLM License server” to begin the installation.
Click next on the first pop up window to begin the installation.
Click “Next” through the installation to choose all default settings.
You will reach a window asking if you want to install a dongle driver.
If you are using a Flex LM 9- or 10- type dongle, check the box that says "Install FlexID dongle driver." Run the installation.
If you are using a license locked to an RLM dongle, check the box that says “Install Sentinel LDK and Sentinel HASP run-time environment” and run the installation.
Click “Next” through the rest of the installation to choose all default settings.
Click install, and then click finish once the server installation is complete.
If you are having licensing issues after you have completed the previous steps, the first step is to reboot the computer. If the issue persists and you are using a dongle, there are two options to fix this.
Open Windows File Explorer and go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Simcenter\RLM 12.2.2 License Server\Licensing\Drivers. Open the folder Sentinel LDK Run time setup. Right click on the executable file named HASP user setup, and run as administrator.
The other option to install the RLM dongle driver is to download it from the website. This is the most recent version. Open a web browser and search Gemalto HASP Driver. Click on the link that says HASP HL Sentinel Downloads Gemalto. Click on the link called Sentinel HASP/LDK Windows GUI Run-time installer.
Scroll down to accept the license agreement, and then click on the hyperlink to download the dongle driver.
Accept the license agreement again and the file will begin to download. Once the file downloads, browse to it in Windows File Explorer. Right click on the zip folder that says Sentinel LDK run time setup and extract it. Open the extracted folder and right click on the executable file named “HASP User Setup” to run as administrator.
Once the RLM license server is installed as well as the dongle driver if necessary, you can set up your license.
You must have an updated license file for the software version you are using. If you need an updated license file, contact the Siemens Support Center with your sold-to and your request.
If you are using a dongle, server, or pc, make sure you have all the corresponding license files.
Once you have these license files, place them in the license folder. The default location for this is C:\ProgramData\lms\licensing.
Copy the license file or license files there. Anytime you have new or updated license files, you must put these in this location.
Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Simcenter\RLM 12.2.2 License Server\Licensing\Bin and run the reread_localhost.bat file. The pop-up window should give the message “Reread command successfully sent to RLM server” and then provide your host name.
You should be able to start Simcenter Testlab with no problems.
If you run into problems during this process, please contact Siemens Support Center office at the appropriate phone number listed on Siemens Support Center Website and have your sold-to ready. For example, the phone number for North America is 1-800-955-0000.
