This article shows you how to reset your graphical User Interface in Simcenter STAR-CCM+
To reset your GUI and other settings for a specific Simcenter STAR-CCM+ version, you have to open your file explorer and switch on to see Hidden Items, which is highlighted in the screenshot below. For example, on Windows 11, view the hidden items could be located under View options or through options dialogue.
Then navigate to C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Local\CD-adapco (versions prior 2502 - 19.02.XXX) or to C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Local\Siemens (2502 onward - 19.02.XXX version) , as shown in the screenshot below. Here, you find a different folder for each version of Simcenter STAR-CCM+, depending on how many different versions had been installed and used on the specific computer and user. Delete the folder corresponding to the version for which you have problems, or you want to reset the settings. The next time that you start Simcenter STAR-CCM+, the folder will be recreated with the default Simcenter STAR-CCM+ settings.

Navigate to your home directory, where you find different Simcenter STAR-CCM+ folder. Delete the folder for which you want to reset the settings. In many Linux File Browsers, such as Nautilus, hidden folders and files can be made visible using the CTRL+h shortcut.
